The Berkshires
In August, I went to the Berkshires with my family for a little weekend getaway. I must say that it is a very pretty place! I really enjoyed it. I do think that New England has so much to offer in terms of nature and hiking, hills, and culture, its really really great to have so many options. Coming from the midwest, that is a big deal! We visited the Norman Rockwell museum, below, and it was so awesome. I had always been familiar with his art but could never place the artist specifically. It was so wonderful to really learn about who he was and see so many of his great pieces of art that reflect on American society over the decades.
They call these houses “cottages”. Hmmm looks a little bigger than your standard cottage to me
Beautiful sunset…
We also went to a concert at the stunningly beautiful and rustic Tanglewood concert hall. It was a jazz duo playing that night and it was phenominal. The hall is open air and people sit on a lawn in the back of the hall – the entire back part of the hall is open to the lawn. All that wood – was so gorgeous.
