Payal + Abhishek | Woodbury Country Club Wedding Ceremony
Payal and Abhishek’s wedding at Woodbury Country Club was on a perfect June day. It was the most on-time Indian wedding I have ever attended and in fact I think it was even a bit early in the schedule! We had so much time for fun portraits and really soaking in the details of the day. Payal and Abhishek are so at ease with one another and both of them were beaming the entire day. I also loved how well their families got along and welcomed each other, it was so heartwarming to see that. Let me tell you, in Hindu weddings sometimes there is a tradition where the bride’s side steals the grooms shoes (joote) as he is entering the mandap or sacred alter for the ceremony. Later on when the groom is getting ready to leave the marriage location, he and his family/friends must pay up in order to get his shoes back – of course if his side didn’t steal them back already. Payal and Abhishek’s friends were stealing Abhishek’s shoes from one another all day long, it was a riot to see. Look for the various moments below as well as all my favorites from their ceremony. Special thanks to Helga Schaefer for second shooting with me…! Enjoy!
