Portraits

Do you travel for portraits?

Definitely! I love to travel and would love to shoot your portraits or wedding wherever it is! I require that my clients cover my team’s travel expenses – airfare, car rental and hotel for 2 persons. I work with you to find the most cost efficient options.

What locations should we think about for our session?

Think about what locations are important to you! I encourage all of my clients to think firstly about the kind of vibe you wish to have in your portraits – urban vs. greenery in a park, vs iconic landmarks, etc. Once you have an idea of that, think about places that mean something to you. I have plenty of places I love to shoot at, especially in and around NYC. Lets talk and discuss the best fit of location to your style and what is important to you.

How long will the session last?

Depending on your selection of portrait package – 1 – 2 hours.  This is including travel time between locations. This is important to consider especially in places of public transit like New York City.

What should I wear to the portrait session?

Think about what style or look you are going for and also the locations as mentioned above. Perhaps you’d like to wear casual clothes that fit the urban vibe of your location of choice, maybe like the Highline or the West Village. Perhaps more dressy/cocktail attire would match the iconic location of the Brooklyn Bridge or Central Park…or completely the opposite! It is up to you and your style. Many of my couples with ethnic roots from South Asia love to wear more cultural eastern clothing for one half of their session, some love to do Fusion outfits. The sky is the limit! Feel free to ask me any questions and let’s discuss what works best for you.

Can I wear multiple outfits?

Most definitely. I recommend 1-2 outfits for a 2 hour session to showcase your personalities and styles.

When will I see the images?

Within 1-2 weeks you will see a preview of the ‘best images’ that caught my eye on my blog. Within 4 weeks you will receive a password protected online proofing gallery for you, friends and family to login and view your proofs.  I will also send you a DVD of the high resolution edited images files for your personal use.

How many images will I receive?

There is no minimum or maximum to the number of images you will receive. If it is a good image you will receive it! There will be plenty and I usually average around 300-400 per standard session.

How do I order prints of my images?

You can order prints in any size/finish directly from the proofing gallery that you are sent. Each image is retouched before sending to print. You can also order prints as you wish from the high resolution image files that I send to you after the session – you can print anywhere you like and might usually print your images. I would recommend using a professional service such as http://mpix.com in order to get the best quality and representation of a professional photo.

Can I order an album of my portrait session?

After all the photos are displayed in your online proofing gallery, we will start the album process if you choose to get an album. I usually start this by creating a draft layout of the images from your session. I don’t have limits on the number of images and each spread usually contains multiple images. Once I send you the initial layout we will work through multiple revisions to swap in/out photos as you wish. We will work together on this until you are 100% happy with the album. Because this is a laborious process, album designs often take a few weeks to finalize, and in general about 4-5 weeks for printing, depending on the style of album you choose. Let’s discuss what you have in mind!

Weddings

Do you have insurance?

Yes absolutely. This is essentially for protecting my business and equipment. Many venues require vendors to have insurance. If your venue requires proof, just let me know.

Do you offer videography services?

I do not offer videography services however I would happy to recommend some of my favorite videographers should you be interested.

Do you travel for weddings?

Absolutely! I love to travel and would love to shoot your wedding wherever it is! I require that my clients cover my team’s travel expenses – airfare, car rental and hotel for 2 persons. I work with you to find the most cost efficient options.

Do you have multiple photographers with you at a wedding?

Unless specified otherwise, I usually have a second shooter with me at my weddings. I believe this is crucial to capturing your day with a second point of view; an alternate angle if you will that helps round out the photography coverage. For weddings with over 400 guests I would highly recommend adding a 3rd shooter to my team. Please inquire should this apply to your event and I will let you know applicable rates.

Do you offer additional coverage beyond the number of hours allotted in the package?

Yes, I offer additional coverage at a per hour rate which you can find in my pricing guide. Please contact me for more details.

After the wedding, how long will it take to receive the images?

Within about 2 weeks I post the best highlights of your wedding to my blog. In 8-10 weeks, all your photos will be available in a password protected online image gallery for you, friends and family to view. If you choose to do an album with me, you will receive the edited high resolution images on a DVD or on a flash drive along with the finished album. If you decide not to do an album, you will receive the DVD or flash drive 2-3 weeks after you request it.

How many images will we receive?

Plenty. My job is to document and showcase your wedding in the best way possible. I don’t limit the number of images I deliver so as to not restrict the coverage and important moments.

How does the album process work?

After all the photos are displayed in your online proofing gallery, we will start the album process if you choose to get an album. I usually start this by creating a draft layout of the images from your wedding day that best tell the story and unfolding of events. I don’t have limits on the number of images and each spread usually contains multiple images. Once I send you the initial layout we will work through multiple revisions to swap in/out photos as you wish. We will work together on this until you are 100% happy with the album. I do not limit the revisions, as I want my clients to be happy with every photo and layout of the album. Because this is a laborious process, album designs often take 8-10 weeks to finalize, and in general about 4-5 weeks for printing.

What can the album credit be used for?

Album credit can be used towards the cost of the album of your choice. It can also be used for print products such as prints of various sizes, canvas wraps and similar products. Please inquire for a full list of options.
