Photo of the Day | Street shots

On the left is 3rd Avenue – the avenue in New York City that my life has somehow centered around in the last 5 years. It is home to me, its familiar, its my avenue and what I think of first when I think of NYC. On the right is a somewhat interest low level view point of the Empire State building, taking from somewhere in the low 20′s.

This photo is just another little reminder of spring.

I love these two photos. Taken a while ago and you may have seen them, but I just love them.

Love them.

My parents came to visit over the weekend, and I took this photo of them when we visited the Highline. I love this photo. I love them.

Photo of the Day | India

My first camera love was a Nikon d70s. It served me well and I was in awe of the glorious images it produced. I took it with me on a family trip to India in 2006 and it was like seeing India in a whole new light. I’ve been visiting India many times with my family – every few years to visit our relatives and see the place my ancestry and family comes from. It is always a glorious trip for me, learning so much each time and seeing so much of what makes my parents who they are and part of me as well. I can write a long post about that at another time..

India is beautiful and it is the most soulful place I have been to. It is beyond words. I can’t wait until I can go back again to experience the sights, smells and sounds. In the meantime, here is a photo or two I really liked from my ’06 trip. More to come at another time.
