Sanjay + Mimi | New York City Proposal!

Sanjay contacted me a few months ago, with an exciting plan in his mind – he wanted me to photograph his proposal to Mimi, at one of the most gorgeous locations in New York City.  Sanjay rented out 620 Loft at Rockefeller Center, and decided to propose on the rooftop garden. The views from here were of Saks Fifth Avenue, Rockefeller Center, 30 Rock and St. Patricks Cathedral – talk about views! I was so incredibly excited when I first talked to him I could hardly contain my excitement. Since then Sanjay and I emailed back and forth planning all the details of how he was going to get her to this particular place, what he would say, where I would be hiding…and all the details leading up to the big moment when he would ask Mimi to be his wife. As the day neared I started to fear that it was going to rain, or that it would be too cold, or that I would get so caught up in the moment I would forget to click the shutter on my  camera :) …but it turned out beautifully. Special thanks to Matt Richman for helping me out on this one, his images are priceless!

When the moment came, it was just beautiful. The location was stunning and the background was just so picturesque. Of course Mimi said YES (!!) and we spent the rest of the morning taking a few photos of the newly engaged couple. I am so happy that I got to be a part of this, thanks guys…and I’m really looking forward to the formal engagement ceremony!

I’ve been waiting…

…and it came today. I’m am BEYOND excited and it’s almost like its too good to be true, I’m scared to use it…

what is IT? Its the Canon 50mm 1.2 lens. The big kahuna, the most buttery, creamy images possible are created from this lens…not to mention how sharp it is, how good in low light, and the color…oh the color! I can’t WAIT to use it, and I am so excited about the fantastic images that this lens will help me create.

Say hello to my newest and probably will be most used lens in my arsenal ….

Meghan | Portraits

Meghan is gorgeous. Her strawberry blond hair and intensely blue eyes are just so fitting to her bubbly personality, and I had so much fun taking photos of her and her personality just made my job of photographer so easy. We ventured around central park on a beautiful warm spring afternoon and these photos just are so fresh and lively, and just what spring is all about it seems. She is such a cutie…and she takes after her no less beautiful mother, Julie, who I also photographed with her daughter. Enjoy…

Tanushree and Niral | Engagement (Part 1)

I met Tanu and Niral this past weekend in Hoboken to snap off a few engagement photos. These two are so full of laughter and playfulness with each other. There were so many when I put my camera down from clicking off a few, and in the ‘time between the photos’, Tanu and Niral would start goofing off like crazy and laughing like there was no tomorrow. I pretty much didn’t have to do much to get them to smile and look fierce for the camera – it was natural for them!

Tanu and Niral met through a friend and a few years later, are about to tie the knot. The wedding is in India in a few months but they wanted some photos in NJ and NY for their engagement. Both of them live in New Jersey so we decided to session 1 on the shore of the Hudson river with the Manhattan skyline in the background. I hardly get out to that side of the Hudson river so it really was nice for me to get the ‘other view’ of nyc (see below post). Oh and in case you can’t guess – they are both huge Met’s fans :) I had so many favorites…hope you enjoy! Stay tuned in a few weeks for Part 2 of their session at their proposal location!

I love this little series – Tanu had just come back from changing her outfit and Niral was waiting for her by the tree – I had nothing to do with this little series and I think it worked out kind of nicely…
