Meet Payal and Abhishek…they are getting married this summer and we recently met up for their engagement photos in Central Park and the Highline. The light was gorgeous as were these two and I really liked getting to know them a bit more in preparation for their big day. Rupal + Kush | Memphis TPC Southwind Wedding Reception

What better way to top off a magnificent three day wedding than a rocking party on the lush grounds of TCP Southwind…Rupal and Kush’s reception was quite the party. We had some gorgeous sunlight for their reception portraits and the party went all night long. Kush’s friends and family from Virginia came up with an elaborate dance ensemble, and at the very end Kush himself got up to dance for Rupal, it was utterly fantastic and set the tone for the remainder of the night.

By now you might have realized that there are just too many images that I love to post it all at one go, please forgive me! Here we head into Rupal and Kush’s outdoor open air ceremony, held right in the Patel family backyard set against an amazing backdrop. It was a perfect day and Rupal got to be married right where she wanted to, at home. It was an emotional yet very happy ceremony and I’m so happy I got to be there to witness it. Thanks again to La Reve for the stunning decor.

Special thanks to Charlene Kim and Jon Lemon who assisted me as second shooters for the entire wedding day.

Rupal and Kush’s sangeet was truly a party to remember. A Sangeet is a great time to get into the celebratory spirit of the wedding weekend and everyone gets to know each other over song and dance. She looked absolutely stunning in her one of a kind Shyamal and Bhumika lehenga. Rupal had always wanted an event for her wedding to be held at the Cadre building in downtown so it was very special for her to have her sangeet there. It was a beautiful space that was showcased and decorated so fabulously by La Reve Creations. Rupal had a one of a kind grooms cake made for Kush, and Kush really brought out the dance moves that he is famous for.

A special thanks to Amy Hutchinson and her husband Ed for second shooting with me for the evening and showing us around downtown Memphis a bit, Amy showed us this great little alley perfect for some portraits…and it was so great.

I had the fantastic opportunity to document Rupal and Kush’s amazing Memphis Indian wedding, and it was so beautiful. Having never met Rupal until her Mehndi, I was immediately put at ease by her family and friends with a warm welcome. It was so colorful and was the perfect start to the grand weekend. Mehndi’s are such a time of anticipation, laughter and fun…here are my favorites!

Kripa and Rajesh chose to have their engagement photos done in the Central Park Conservatory and the Meatpacking district of NYC. It was a beautiful day and the weather could have been any better for spring. I loved Kripa’s bright sense of style and both of their smiles are contagious! They are so great and at ease together, and I can’t wait to shoot their wedding this summer…

Kunal and Rashmi are so sweet. They are from Dubai and on a recent visit to NYC wanted to do a little portrait session to capture the city sights and sounds. They recently celebrated their one year anniversary and I was delighted to be able to do this for them. They laugh so much together and I loved seeing that. Here are my favorite images below…

The Brooklyn Bridge is currently having some work done so they put up these aluminum sides to protect the pedestrians. It was a bit unfortunate but we made the best of it! Metal makes for great light reflectors! It was a beautiful sunny afternoon, and then we transitioned to the city lights in the meatpacking area, one of my favorite areas to shoot in Manhattan. Here are my favorite images below…

I live in a wonderous place. There is nothing like New York City. I greatly appreciate many many places all over the world, and I love to travel and wish I could travel more. However there is something just fascinating about NYC even after living here for seven years. I often take random images here and there and realize I should probably post them more often, just to have a bit of a documentary of my life here and what I see…a glimpse into my city life.
